As reported by CanaleSport, Reggina president Foti and Inter president Moratti had reached an agreement upon the issue of Baggio. Now they are waiting for Roby's decision.

Baggio indicated that he won't move to Lazio, because it would be difficult getting a place in the squad.
Another team that can be written off the list is Napoli, as its coach Zeman had said that Roby was not a target of the club.
On the other hand, A.C. Milan president Berlusconi reportedly wanted to get him back. While about Udinese, Roby said it was a serious side, and its trainer De Canio did appeal to him.
Also, Baggio was flattered by a proposal from Moratti, which was about a technical role, soccer schools and other matters.
Even though Baggio had said that he would stay in Italy, Turkish club Bashiktash still hasn't given up. But its chance of getting him is small.

Baggio still hopes to play in World Cup 2002, he told La Gazzetta dello Sport: "to retire is not in my plans, I want to continue playing until 2002. My main target is to get a call for the World Cup to be held in Japan and Korea. I feel I can do that, I know I still have a lot to give."
Roby also said Lippi should be responsible for his absence in Euro 2000, but not Zoff, he said "obviously Zoff couldn't call me, because I didn't play much in the last season. Now there is Giovanni Trapattoni, and I know if I perform well, he will give me a chance. That's why I want to move to a team in which I can prove that my skill is still there, and in which I'll have the opportunity to play. To decide which will be my new club is surely a thing I'll think a lot about, I'm not in a hurry."

According to Calciatori.com, both Udinese and Lazio want to sign Roby. After a meeting with Moratti in Milan, Udinese said that having Baggio for the next 2 years interested them very much. While the capital-city club Lazio would like him to fill in the space left by Mancini, at least until the year 2002, and the Rome club could pay the 7 billion Lira he expected.

As reported in Italian Soccer website, Vicenza had denied the rumour of buying Baggio, therefore, it becomes more likely that he will move to Reggina.
On the other hand, as I was told by Colin Xuereb, Maltese club Birkirkara F.C. would play a friendly with Manchester United on 9 August. And the Maltese team was trying to get some help from a world-class player, they were thinking of either Maradona or Baggio. But there were complaints from Man. Utd. about the former Argentine international's drug abuse, so Roby would probably be the one, and they were already in negotiation.

As reported by ZoomSoccer, Baggio made it clear that he won't leave Italy, he said "I really want to keep having fun, and I want to play in Italy." This statement surely let down many overseas clubs. Within the same report, it said Inter Milan president Massimo Moratti had suggested a re-signing of Roby, then loan him out to Reggina, a Southern Italian team.

Thanks to Ahmad Yousef Kedan Thanks to Ahmad Yousef KedanReggina president Lillo Foti admitted that he did not hold much hope of signing Baggio. He said "I don't want to give myself false hopes nor wait in vain." However, he believed that Roby could end his career in his best way with Reggina, in where the supporters would give him the warmth and enthusiasm that he deserves. Thanks to Thirukumaran Sankaran for telling me about this!

RAI Sport pictureRAI reported that Reggina wanted Baggio, and the interest had been confirmed by club president Lillo Foti. The picture here is from RAI.
As reported in the English press Daily Mail, Arsenal coach Wenger thought of bringing Baggio to Highbury.
Andrea Pirlo told La Gazzetta dello Sport that he would miss Baggio, and the departure of Roby would surely be a loss to Inter. He also thanked Baggio for the things he had taught him.

Wallpaper Thanks to Ahmad Yousef Kedan Thanks to Ahmad Yousef KedanAccording to a Yahoo! report, Bologna president Guiseppe Grazzoni said there were 3 players he would like to see in his team, one of them was Roberto Baggio.

FIGC picture FIGC pictureAs I read from the Federazione Italiana Giuoco Calcio web site, Schillaci, top scorer of Italia '90 with 6 goals, thanked Baggio for letting him taking the penalty kick just before the end of the third-place match against England, so that he could become the top scorer. Here are 2 pictures from FIGC web site.
I just added a new section called "Statistics", which has some data of Baggio's career and national team appearance. Also I integrated "Mouse Cursor", "Icon", "Wallpaper" and "Winamp skin" into a new section "Desktop".

Masahide Tomikoshi picture Thanks to MinAn interesting phrase: "Everyone wants Baggio to be back to the Italian team just like everyone wants Jordan to show up in NBA again". Thank Gordon for telling me about this.

Thanks to Ahmad Yousef Kedan La Gazzetta dello Sport pictureItaly's new coach is Giovanni Trapattoni, who is said to be the "most successful coach in Serie A history". He was once the coach of Juventus when Baggio was there, and they won the UEFA Cup together in the 1992/93 season, in which Roby was the captain. The second picture here is Trapattoni with his famous pose. Picture source is La Gazzetta dello Sport.
The first picture was sent to me by Ahmad Yousef Kedan, it was taken in a match between Inter and Fiorentina. Ahmad also made 2 new wallpapers, click here.

Two German teams, Borussia Dortmund and Kaiserslauten, are reportedly interested in Baggio. It was reported that Dortmund had offered Roby $2,500,000 a year, which was a 3-year contract. Many clubs are not willing to pay this amount of money.
There are 17 pictures scanned and sent to me by Joseph Angelo Lanza, they are all very nice! Thanks to Joseph. Click here.

5th July, 2000

As I was told by Riccardo and Luca Cortese, Parma had made an offer to get Baggio. If he really joins that club, its meaning will be that Roby destroyed his own chance of Champions League appearance.
Italy lost to France in Euro 2000 dramatically, and Dino Zoff had resigned, so will Roby have the chance to be back into the national team? I do hope so!
Another thing about the Italian national team, there is a survey in Federazione Italiana Giuoco Calcio web site, which is to vote for the national team of all times. Now Baggio is leading in the left wing position, so take some time to strengthen his first place! Thank Leonardo Sanchez Guillen for telling me about this.

Thanks to Dennis LithAs I was told by Dennis Lith from the Netherlands, in that hosting country of Euro 2000, there was a singer called E-type, who released a single called Campione. The song is related to the competition, and inside the music video, there are shots of some soccer players, and surprisingly, Baggio is one of them. This shows that people everywhere in the world would like to see Roby in the Azzurri, just one person doesn't. Dennis also sent me a screenshot of the music video, thanks to Dennis.
On the other hand, I just made a new Winamp skin, click here.
