As reported in BresciaOggi, Brescia team doctor Tjouroudis said that Baggio could return within 30-40 days, while he must have complete rest. The doctor also explained that there was no tie between the injuries in the matches against Inter and against Lecce, because they were of different legs. Roby is now in Argentina for vacation, while he will undergo a magnetic resonance in a clinic in Buenos Aires, in order to accelerate his recovery. He will be back to Italy before new year.

Bad news for all, as reported in BresciaOggi, Roby will be out of action for 40 to 45 days, that is he will miss the matches against Bologna, Perugia, Vicenza and A.C. Milan, and possibly the match against Bari as well.

Both pictures here were taken in the match against Lecce. In the second picture Roby is reading the official notice against violence. Pictures source is Giornale di Brescia.

Roby had another accident during the match against Lecce, but the situation is unclear. While there is a two-week break before the next match, hopefully Baggio will have sufficient time to recover.

As reported in Calciomercato.com, some Brescia fans went to talk with the players after the match yesterday. They wanted the team to work harder, they also criticize Baggio: "why does he never show up when the side is struggling?"

As reported in La Gazzetta dello Sport, Baggio is still playing with the objectives in his head, he once again emphasized the two main aims: saves Brescia and returns to the national team.

Regarding Roby's injury, they have planned to give him two days of complete rest, then Baggio will train by himself on Friday, and will return to the group in Saturday morning just before the match against Lecce.

Baggio had a goal disallowed in the match against Inter, because Hubner was said to be offside, but as reported in BresciaOggi, Roby believed that the goal should be awarded. In spite of this, he is still happy with the draw, Roby said "we hoped for a useful result and we have obtained it. Surely we could get more but it's good enough."

Today Baggio will return to San Siro as Brescia travel to play Inter Milan. Roby talked about his former club, and in Calciomercato.com there is an English version of the talk.

About the possibility of staying at Inter, he said "I showed what I had to show in the last match against Parma. Everyone saw that I was fit and that I could have stayed with Inter, but I wasn't part of their plans... I stayed home, training alone for 2 months."

Then about the rumour of the lack of physical condition, Roby said "I am still angry - they said I couldn't play 90 minutes but they said so to hide something else. On the news, I read that I had physical problems but it's easy to say so when you can't show the opposite on the pitch. Here with Brescia, everyone seen that what was written was false."

Finally about Brescia and himself, Baggio said "Inter Milan is a side with great players but I have to think about Brescia - they need points. And then, the last time I scored was a long time ago and I would like to score on Sunday, although honestly, I don't know how I would react if that happens. I just want to help Brescia stay in Serie A."

Sorry for not updating for a while, because I'm just back to Hong Kong from Sydney. From now on everything will become normal again.

Earlier this week the FIFA World Player of the Century award and the FIFA Internet Award was presented in the FIFA World Player gala 2000. Baggio attended the gala and sat next to Maldini and Baresi. Roby was in the fourth place for the FIFA Internet Award, behind Maradona, Pele and Eusebio.

Brescia beat Fiorentina 3-1 in the second leg of Coppa Italia quarter final. Since they lost 0-6 in the first leg, they were saving some first team players, so Baggio didn't play in that match.

The first five pictures here were taken in the match between Brescia and Napoli, the sources are Brescia Calcio Official Site and Sportal. The other three are pictures of Baggio in the FIFA World Player gala 2000, sent to me by Marcus Walkin, webmaster of Baggio 2000, thanks to Marcus!

Brescia's goal against Napoli scored by Diana was beautifully assisted by Roby, but since he missed some easy chances, the marks given by the Italian press were not too high. RAI gave him 6.5, Giornale di Brescia gave him 6, while BresciaOggi only gave him 5.5.

Here are four pictures of Baggio in that match on Saturday, the first two are Reporter pictures, and then two RAI pictures.

As reported in BresciaOggi, yesterday Baggio didn't follow the team to visit the jail of Verziano, because he was resting at home to take precaution of a probable influenza. But he should be alright for tomorrow's match against Napoli, as Giornale di Brescia reported that Roby would play behind Hubner and Marino. On the other hand, a number 10 Brescia jersey of Baggio was brought to jail and being presented to the director Gloria Manzelli, who promised to framed it onto the office wall.

Later today Brescia will play against Verona. Baggio will be a forward again partnering Marino up front, while Hubner will start the match in the bench.

On the other hand, as reported in Giornale di Brescia, coach Mazzone explained why he still let Baggio played when the team was already 0-3 behind in the match against Fiorentina, he said that before the match he had decided to give Roby 45 minutes of playing time as a training. He added that Baggio was the best in the match against Reggina, and he hoped that Roby could repeat this in today's match against Verona.
