Roby's new autobiography Una porta nel cielo will be out this week. In this autobiography Baggio revealed that he was dropped by Lippi at Inter Milan after he refused the coach's request to be a spy in the dressing room. Baggio also attacked other individuals like former national team coach Sacchi and former Bologna coach Ulivieri. After knowing Roby's claim, Lippi stated that he could take legal action against Baggio. On the other hand, Roby said good things about coaches Mazzone and Trapattoni. As reported in SoccerAge, about being nominated for the European Footballer of the Year award, Roby said "I am surprised but I am very happy, it is an honour for me. I already had the fortune to win this award a few years ago, and it is great to be included in the group of prestigious soccer players again."

According to Datasport, Baggio is named as a candidate of the Golden Globe award by France Football magazine, if Roby wins he will be the first Italian player to win this European footballer of the year award twice.

As reported in Datasport, Roby stated, during an inquiry by FIGC Italo Pappa at his home in Caldogno, that it was Brazilian player Fabio Bilica who threatened him during the match between Brescia and Venezia at the Rigamonti Stadium on 28 October.

Baggio's agent Vittorio Petrone revealed that a Venezia player threatened Roby prior to the match between Brescia and Venezia, Petrone expressed that the Venezia player said "I will break your legs, then you cannot go to the World Cup." But the agent didn't give out any name. And as reported in Sportal, the Federazione Italiana Giuoco Calcio had begun an inquiry on this case.
