As reported by Datasport, after the match against Fiorentina, Roby said "I am happy because my knee has a good response, and this is my prime concern, as well as the result of the team and the points. I still have to work hard though, obviously my condition is not at the best. Again, I concern more on my knee that it has a positive response. On the other hand, my manager and good friend Petrone has been important throughout the two months, I dedicate my goals to him."

According to SoccerAge, AC Milan forward Filippo Inzaghi made a compliment to Roby for his great performance. On the other hand, national team coach Trapattoni thought that Roby's career would continue for another ten years.

On the other hand, national team coach Trapattoni earlier said that he did not want to take doubtful players to the World Cup, he only wanted healthy players, this virtually means he had ruled Roby out of the World Cup squad.
