Roby has returned to Italy from the United States. According to Giornale di Brescia, yesterday he had begun his training with personal coach Miguel at the Isokinetic di Bologna, where he healed his injuried knee earlier this year. Roby will join the Brescia team in Ospitaletto next Tuesday.

As reported in Datasport, Roby expressed in an interview that he wanted to participate in World Cup Germany 2006 even at the age of 39. He said "I must play my fourth World Cup, I will only be 39 at that time, it was my dream to play the fourth World Cup and to retire. To challenge and to demonstrate something are always my driving force."
About being excluded by national team coach Trapattoni for World Cup 2002, Roby said "it was a big disappointment. I thought I deserved to enjoy the happiness the same as Bergomi being called to France four years ago. He (Trapattoni) called me on phone to tell me that 'I do not include you because you are not well', then I answered that I was well. This was like crossing out the work by the doctors and the professionals who cured me during my injury. I had done what I could do, to return to play after 76 days of fighting with my injury, and Mazzone allowed me to play. I would like to meet Trapattoni privately to learn the true reasons."
