RAI Sport pictureThere is a RAI report about Roby that said he left a deep sign in Florence, Juve, Milan, Bologna, and also Inter. It also mentioned Baggio's "soccer philosophy": "It's better to have 10 disorganized people who can play football than 10 organized people who just run". But trainers nowaday usually emphasize more on muscular power than talent. Here is a Real movie of this report, you can see all Baggio's open-play goals this season, and the standing ovation that Inter supporters gave him. All the pictures here are actually the screenshot of this report.

On Thursday, a charity match dedicated to Middle East peace was held at the Olympic Stadium in Rome. The purpose of this game was to raise money for school Internet and other facilities to boost dialogue between Israel and Palestine. Some world figures attended, such as soccer legend Pele, FIFA president Blatter, actor Sean Connery, and of course the Palestinian president Arafat.
The match was played between the joint team of the 2 countries and the Italian singers. Baggio played for the Israel and Palestine joint team coached by French Platini, which was an all-star team with not only professional soccer players, Ferrari's Formula one driver Michael Schumacher was a memeber as well. While some famous Serie A players reinforced the singers, like Hidetoshi Nakata and Angelo Peruzzi. The match ended with the all-star won by a score of 2-1. After this match, Baggio travelled to Argentina to have a short break.
Below are 2 Reuters pictures of Roby in this charity match.

As reported by Agence France-Press, Baggio said "if Lippi stays, there's no reason for me to stay." And it is confirmed that Lippi will continue coaching Inter next season, so Roby will leave for sure.
La Gazzetta dello Sport online is doing a survey, the question is "Vieri is not available for the European competition (because of injury), if you were Zoff would you call Roby Baggio?"
Here are 7 more pictures of Baggio in the Inter-Parma match. The first 4 are from Inter official site, and the rest are from La Gazzetta dello Sport.

Roby Baggio scored twice and helped Inter to beat Parma 3-1, this means they are qualified for a place in the Champions League. Both of his goals were of the highest quality, with the first one from a freekick that opened the score, and the second with a beautiful left foot volley from the edge of the box, which gave Inter the important 2-1 lead. Here are the goal movies, the Mpegs are from RAI, and the QuickTimes are from Inter official site.

He started the match with Vieri, and was substituted by Fresi just after he scored his second. RAI Sport gave him 7.5, which was the highest in this game. After the match Baggio said "I'm a serious professional and I've demonstrated that this season." But when asked where he would head to in the coming season, he said "I truly don't know. I have no idea."

La Gazzetta dello Sport pictureThis picture is in a La Gazzetta dello Sport article, which talks about today's play-off match between Inter and Parma.

23rd May, 2000

Today Inter will play their final but the most important match this season. They will travel to Verona to play the European Champions League play-off match with Parma. According to Inter official site, Vieri will be the first-choice striker, and Lippi will choose between Baggio and Recoba to partner him.
Surely this will be Roby's last game wearing the no.10 Inter jersey, next season he'll be with another team, very likely that it will be a Serie A team. Just wait and see.

The second leg of Coppa Italia final ended with a 0-0 draw, which saw the Lazio players celebrating in Giuseppe Meazza Stadium. Baggio started the game and RAI Sport gave him a 6. But he was substituted by Recoba in the 61st minute, who got an even higher mark of 7; while both Zamorano and Vieri got 5.5.
Well, finally Baggio couldn't win any trophy with Inter, and he has not won any with any team since his first season with AC Milan.

RAI Sport pictureInter beat Cagliari 2-0. Baggio played his second full match of this season, and showed encouraging form. He involved in a number of scoring chances, also caused a Cagliari player to be sent off, and in the 75th minute, he scored a penalty that gave Inter the lead. Now Inter have the chance to play in the European Champions League next season, but this is not an issue for Roby anymore. On the other hand, both Vicenza and Napoli has been successfully promoted to Serie A, in the near future Baggio will decide where to go.
This picture here is a screen shot I found in Inter official site.

14th May, 2000

Today Inter will play their final Serie A game this season. A win will give them the hope for a Champions League place, a loss will otherwise dampen that. Every week La Gazzetta dello Sport will do a prediction for the probable squad for all Serie A teams, but the people there always think Baggio will be a substitute, no idea why.

Inter Football ClubWhen Baggio was interviewed by La Gazzetta dello Sport, he hinted a move to Napoli, he said "the idea of playing at Napoli is very interesting, yes I like the idea but nothing is decided yet. I will decide where I am going to play next season within the next fortnight."
The small picture here is from Inter official site, and it's in the Inter Football Club magazine.

It's obvious that Baggio was one of the best Inter players on the field in the Inter-Fiorentina match, and when he knew he was being substituted, he was disappointed and didn't head to the bench. Some people thought that this was not an appropriate behaviour.
Another thing about Roby is about the anti-doping stuff. At the end of every Serie A match, 2 players from each team will be randomly chosen to have a test for using drugs, and this time Baggio was one of them. However, as reported in Inter official site, he didn't turn up for the test because he had left the dressing room. As a consequence, he'll go to Rome on Wednesday with Inter's doctor to meet CONI representatives to discuss about the misunderstanding involved.

Inter lost to Fiorentina by 4 goals at home. Baggio was in the starting line-up, but he was substituted in the 56th minute, when the team was 2 goals behind. The picture here is from Inter official site.

Inter beat Perugia 2-1. Baggio played the whole match for Inter for the first time this season. He started with Recoba and Mutu. The opening goal of the game was scored by Seedorf, which was assisted by Roby, then Recoba got the second for Inter, and Perugia pulled a goal back afterward. Baggio did some good work in the dying minutes of the game, he once went pass 2 defenders and crossed the ball to Recoba, but he shot it wide; and then he got a chance himself but just couldn't score.
This was the third consecutive wins for Baggio including the charity match. The most important is that he started all 3 matches, and played 2 of them without being substituted.
