As reported in BresciaOggi and Giornale di Brescia, Baggio expressed his support on coach Mazzone. He said "I and the whole squad are unified with Mazzone, as a person and a professional. We all are with him and that he will stay until the end of the championship. We believe that our unity can also join the fans to the squad. The fundamental way to get out of difficult moments is unity. If it lacks, it is obvious that work becomes tremendous."

About the climate within Brescia lately, Roby said "under the current conditions nobody can work in calm, when we lose calm this will only create advantages for the other squads. There are still eleven games left until the end of the championship, no matter what result we get in the game against Juventus in Turin, we will keep our believe in the salvation. We knew that it would have been very difficult, and our thought is never changed, but we believe that the possibility of salvation exists. However, salvation will need a unity of the trainer, the fans and players."

Then he returned to talk about Mazzone, Roby said "in my career I have worked with many coaches, Eriksson, Capello, Ulivieri, Maifredi, Zoff, Sacchi. Everyone has his way to prepare for the game, but they are great coaches. Mazzone is also a great coach, he deserves great esteem. He always speak out what he thinks and he is a serious person, this is what makes him admirable."

Finally, Roby repeated "I will be with him and he will be here until the end."

As reported in Giornale di Brescia, the Discipline Commission had a decision to reduce the punishment to one match. Brescia will only need to play on a neutral field for the match against Atalanta, which is confirmed to be in Reggio Emilia, while the match against Reggina will be played at the Rigamonti Stadium. However, president Corioni still was not satisfied and had sent the case to the Caf for the third level of judgement, Brescia would like to clear all the punishment, and to play both matches at the Rigamonti Stadium.

As reported in Giornale di Brescia, the taxi driver who drove the referee out of the Rigamonti Stadium after the match against Lazio said there were really some boys waiting outside of the stadium, but they were waiting for the players for an autograph. Also he said that the referee was assisted by a Brescia personnel to get into his taxi, and that no wound was seen on the referee's body. After the referee was in the taxi, the police had already cleared a path for them to leave. Although on the way out he saw some newspaper balls being thrown onto the vehicle, the taxi did not suffer from any damage. This piece of evidence can be favourable to Brescia.

According to BresciaOggi, the Sport Judge will make a decision on 16th March, three days before the match against Atalanta.

As reported in Sportal, Brescia were penalised by the Sport Judge for the behaviour of their fans at the Rigamonti Stadium during the match against Lazio, which was mainly towards the referee who was obviously on the side of Lazio. Brescia will not be able to play the next two home matches at the Rigamonti Stadium, they are the matches against Atalanta and Reggina.

According to Brescia Calcio Official Site, the club had launched an appeal to overturn this decision, Brescia Calcio stated that they had assisted the referee to get out of the field and get into a taxi, and that the referee did get into a taxi safely. Also the supporters did not maintain their behaviour.

Tonight Brescia will play against Lazio at the Rigamonti Stadium. According to Sportal, Lazio coach Dino Zoff stated that he wouldn't underestimate Brescia, especially Baggio. He said "Brescia is a team that deserves the maximum respect, a squad that knows how to play, therefore it will have its own way of game play. Like always, it will depend on a player, who is a top class player named Roberto Baggio. He is a classy, an important player that he can always create a great game. It will be dangerous when the ball is passed to his feet."

| 2ND MARCH 2001 |

In a press conference yesterday Baggio stated that his last objective in his career was to play in the World Cup next year. Roby said "it is always my dream. Trapattoni has not promised to me, neither has contact with me, but I do not let it go. If I still have the power to play, I will aim at wearing the Azzurri jersey. I must believe in myself and to go back to represent Italy, which is my hope. They all know that I want to play in the World Cup, after which I can stop."

Italy was beaten by Argentina 1-2 on Wednesday, Roby's comment was that the Italian lacked important players.

About the rumour of leaving Brescia and joining J-League club, Roby said "I never had contact with Japanese teams or leaders. I do not want to transfer, and it is less stressful here. Just ask the foreign players and to think about the difficulties that they face when they are in Italy. I am happy with myself for staying in this squad."

About coach Mazzone, Roby said that the reports about his exit was not true, and he had confidence with Mazzone.

Finally about Pirlo, Roby said "he has great potential. He and I can coexist and that was demonstrated in Florence. We will try to play well against Lazio."

Here is a Real format video of this press conference from RAI Sport.
